Like the other astrological signs, Libra has both positive and negative personality traits. However, the fact that the zodiac symbol for Libra is a scale denotes the potential for balance. This means they will never judge a person unless they know everything that is going on with a situation and even the person’s life. They could care less how other people look or react to a situation but rather prefer to view things from their own perspective and in turn make their own judgments.
Libras are also strong believers in equality and usually possess the ability to make sound judgment on things and would rather keep it that way. Because Venus is their ruling planet, Libras are very romantic and tend to enjoy showing their feelings. If they like you, it would not be out of their nature to use body language to show you they are interested. Libras do not have a problem with others seeing them show their feelings openly. They also love art and can see the beauty in everything that surrounds them.
Because of their sympathetic and affectionate natures, Libras are very kind. They are also very affectionate and have the knack for making people feel at ease. Libras are also very good listeners, a trait that appeals to everyone since it shows someone really cares about what is happening in their lives. Whether the Libra is a family member friend or just a casual acquaintance, they will show sensitivity to your needs and feelings. These people have a tendency to make you feel better just because they are there.
Negative Traits
Unfortunately the Libra is not always full of fun and games and a great personality; inside they are also vain, shallow and can be quite jealous. The vain characteristic is likely due to the fact that the ruling planet is named after the goddess of love. Libras love attention and especially being the center of attention. While many would argue there is no harm in this or a little competition, the reality is that Libras are such vain people that they are highly prone to jealousy and even shallowness. Libras have an intense need for praise and do not take criticism lightly. In fact, criticism can cause a Libra to become very insecure. They are extremely sensitive and make a big deal out of everything you say about them.
In addition to their vanity Libras are also very demanding and extravagant, especially females. They are very materialistic and always expect praise and presents from everyone around them. Their generosity is confined to causes in which they believe. Males on the other hand tend to become gamblers who do not care how much they spend on the vice always believing they have a chance to win even bigger—this is the way male Libras exert their materialistic nature.
Libras hate dirty work and any type of manual labor, a trait that causes some people to think of them as lazy. They tend to prefer desk jobs and even though they possess many good ideas, they lack the ability to follow through with them.
